Compression stockings – why bother?

You should consider wearing compression stockings if you suffer from varicose veins symptoms, such as pain, aching, swelling, or blood circulation problems. Compression stockings have different recommended strengths and styles, and it would be best to consult your vein specialist before you get a pair.

Compressions stockings:

  • Help relieve symptoms caused by varicose veins
  • Help relieve symptoms caused by deep venous thrombosis
  • Help improve blood flow
  • Slow down the deterioration of varicose veins
  • Will benefit you most if you wear them daily, especially while standing

You may wonder why you should bother getting a vein treatment if compression stockings work so well. Although compression stockings are great at keeping the formation of new visible veins at bay, unfortunately, they will not reduce the appearance of varicose veins, nor will they treat the root of the problem. They will make your legs feel better but only while they are on.

For some patients, this works perfectly, while others dread wearing compression stockings. There is only one way to find out! If you are still deciding if you should wear them, don’t think anymore; give it a go! Our clinic is just a phone call away and we will happily give you an appointment to discuss and measure you for a pair of compression stockings. They come in different sizes, strengths and styles;  our team will be happy to help you find a pair that will work best for your legs.
